Why should you work with Access for Success ?

Meet Sarah Morrell – Founder & Accessibility Advocate

At the heart of Access for Success is Sarah Morrell, a passionate advocate for accessibility and inclusion. As a full-time electric wheelchair user, Sarah brings firsthand experience to her work, understanding the real challenges disabled people face daily.

She holds a New Zealand Diploma in Business, which complements her advocacy work by giving her the tools to support businesses and organisations in making practical, sustainable accessibility improvements.

Her background includes:

  • Disability Support Coordinator for Te Whatu Ora Whanganui’s COVID Vaccination Team, improving accessibility in healthcare.

  • Advocacy work through Te Pūkāea Consumer Engagement Group, ensuring disabled voices are heard.

  • Member of the Central Regional Consumer Council at Te Whatu Ora | Health New Zealand, advising on disability inclusion.

Sarah’s mission is simple: make accessibility practical, achievable, and beneficial for everyone. She believes that every business and public space can be more inclusive with the right guidance.

Beyond her work, Sarah enjoys exploring local cafés, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Her time in San Francisco gave her valuable insights into global accessibility approaches, which she now applies to help businesses and communities in Whanganui and across New Zealand.

Story

As a full-time electric wheelchair user, I experience firsthand the challenges of navigating a world that isn’t always built for disabled people. From inaccessible businesses and public spaces to healthcare facilities with barriers, I know what it’s like to feel excluded—not because of my disability, but because of poor design. My goal is simple: to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, has equal access to spaces, services, and opportunities.
